Hulled barley is easily digestible and after eating it, you will feel more awake and active instead of lethargic. Barley is mucus-forming and therefore soothes an irritated stomach and intestines. It does not lead to constipation or work as a laxative. Barley flakes have to be simmered for 20 minutes and then left to stand for another 10.
